New Zealand Registered Dietitian Masters of Dietetics BSc Human Nutrition Monash Uni trained in the use of a low FODMAP diet for IBS
Hi, I am Marco
I have always had a passion for nutrition and food which I believe originates from a range of different places, including my very lovely and very Italian mother. My main motivation to study nutrition and help others however was and still is my father who has had type 2 diabetes since before I was born. Growing up I wanted to understand what exactly his condition was and how we could use food to help him.
This led me to complete a Bachelors degree in Human Nutrition and Masters in Dietetics from the University of Otago to become a New Zealand Registered Dietitian (NZRD).
I now get to spend my days working with people from different backgrounds and with different needs, with the ultimate goal of improving not just their eating habits but their understanding of, and relationship with food. I believe that food and nutrition is one of the most important determinants of our health. Therefore I believe that nutrition knowledge should be accessible to everybody. While working 1 on 1 with people is something I spend most of my time doing, I also love delivering workshops, seminars and talks which I have done from groups ranging from 6 to 600 and from school kids to government organisations to athletes.
